Random Ramblings

(found here)

*This picture made me laugh so much. It reminds me so much of this past weekend with Andrea, my closest guy friend out here.
I would be the cranky cat in the blue and green and he would be the cheerful cat in pink and purple.
Case in point: this weekend we were hanging out in my living room and I was craaaaaanky and I told him I was officially in hibernation mode.
He looks at me and goes, "I know what you need, you need a huuug" at which point he jumped on top of me on the couch and hugged me.
My response, "Eeeeewwwww, what are you doooooooiiiiiiing???? Yoooouuu're tooooooouuucccchhhhhiiiinnnggg meeeeeeeeee, people who are hibernating don't get tooooouuuucccchhhheeeeeeddddd"
I was a total cranky-pants this weekend!
I guess this is the point where I should say a big thanks to Andrea for putting up with me!

*I have less than two weeks until I go home and have no desire to even start thinking about packing!
I think it's because it brings up the fact that packing means I have to admit I have to fly.
I HATE FLYING!

*A friend told me that more than half the battle with the gym is physically getting there.
He is SOOOOO right!

*Am I the only one who felt kind of let down by the new Harry Potter movie?
It was ok. Either a) I got my expectations up due to all the good reviews I had been hearing, or b) watching it in Italian is much, much different than watching it in English.

*I really want to go see Love and Other Drugs and Black Swan when I get home

* I am also going to go on a mission to find the perfect red lipstick when I go home!

Snow, snow, snow, snow snooooooow!

(This was taken during a snowfall this year and I used this since I am too lazy to go out to take pictures)

I woke up this morning to a scene similar to this!

Yesterday afternoon, when I arrived at Thanksgiving dinner (which, by the way, was delicious and fun) it was cold outside, but nice and clear. By the time I left Thanksgiving dinner it was snowing outside.

I woke up this morning to snowcapped roofs and hedges. A lovely sight indeed!

My only big issue with the snow..
In order for it to snow, it has to be COLD!!!
I am not a big fan of the cold, but I better brace myself because winter is officially upon us and it often lasts well into spring here!

Letter to Italy

Dear Italy (maybe I should be more specific...)
Dear Trentino,
Please stop raining!
Thanks,
Cyn

p.s. when did it become ok to smoke while pregnant? Not cool!

Buuuurn!

Conversation about our favorite cartoons/kids shows between one of the boys I teach English to and myself:

Me: I used to love the Power Rangers, too.
You know, I think I was your age when the original Power Rangers started.
Yeah, I was nine. I was your age.

Kid: Wow, the Power Rangers are really old then.

Ouch!

Sei strana...

That's what my roommate, E, told me today.
It literally translates to "You are weird."

I have a magnet in the kitchen that says
"never
never
never
give
up"

She mentioned that she liked it a lot. I told her it was very 'me' since I have inspirational quotes written all over the place. I looked at her and shrugged my shoulders and said, "I'm weird, I know.."
She looks at me and goes, "You are weird" and this following exchange took  place:

Me: "but you know what, I like my weirdness"
E: "You are a bit of a freak, but I wouldn't classify you as one"
Me: "What do you mean?"
E: "Well, you aren't the kind of person who is easy to put in a box, easy to label... Some people are nerds, some are your typical Barbies, but you.... you're a freak when it comes to some things, when it comes to others you seriously don't give a crap or seriously don't give a crap about what others think... you're not weird, you're..just you! There's no way to classify you, you are who you are"
Me: "Thanks, I guess"
E: "I like you the way you are, I've never met anyone quite like you before. You are definitely one of a kind"

I think E just paid me an amazing compliment! I am glad she likes me because I adore her!!!
Tomorrow we're having a roommate day... breakfast together, (small break for the gym), lunch, hanging out (small break to go to work for a few hours), dinner and movies & drinks at home...can't wait!

Ouch!

Who is enough of an idiot to be able to break a capillary in their finger while taking off a ring?
Me, that's who!

I was at work and my ring was bugging me and I noticed my fingers were getting a bit swollen, so I thought it would be best to take my ring off (which it was because my fingers are pretty swollen at them moment). It came off easily enough, my ring slid right off. I felt something a bit off, but it wasn't painful or anything. I put some lotion on my hand and OUCH! My ring finger on my right hand was turning purple-ish and was a bit swollen and it was very painful to the touch. Half an hour later my finger was swollen and itr is a mix between a shade of blue and purple...
NICE!

ATTN....ATTN!!!

From today on out I am going to try to have all my blog posts in English and in Italian..
Key word: TRY
The Italian versions will be after the jump!

I'm a sucker for...

Accessories...
and bags...
and shoes!

There is this store in town called Accessorize and they sell...
Accessories!
It's like torture to walk by there because I want to buy everything.
I have been on a no shopping diet lately and it has been going really well.

A while back I bought this really cute coin purse and it had a matching passport case. I passed on the p.p. case but couldn't stop thinking about it, I decided to go back and buy it but they didn't have it anymore. This was months ago.

A recently told a friend that I should buy a passport case since I always seem to be misplacing my passport and it's kind of important.
The other day I was passing by Accessorize and decided to stop in for a look...
lo and behold, the first thing I see was the passport case I had spent months looking for...
Needless to say, I snatched it up!
Victory and it only cost me a little under 14 euro!

"Wow, you're hair grows so fast..."

That's what my roommate said when she saw the following two pictures
Picture A was taken a little after Oct. 6, probably on the 10th or 11th
Picture B was taken this past Friday, so November 5th
My hair grows freakishly fast!

{Picture A}
(Taken at work)

{Picture B}
(Taken before going out to a work event...Ignore the hair in my face)

The hair in my face is why I usually end up looking like this after a day of work:

I'm a slob

have you ever felt just..blah?
That's how I am feeling right now, lethargic!
I think it has something to do with the fact that it's been getting dark out here around 5, it's been raining a lot lately and it's cold!

Sorry I have been m.i.a. lately, I have a ton of stuff to write about...but first I have to tackle the disaster area that is my room!

I am not the neatest person in the world and growing up it was probably the number 1 thing I would get in trouble for ("Cynthia, if you're room isn't clean by the time I get home you aren't going anywhere this weekend!")
I have improved drastically since then!
I tend to keep my room from getting too messy...
Clothes usually piles up during the week and then I clean it all during the weekend.

I have had a hectic past couple of months and it all just keeps piling up and, well, even I have my limits.

This is the state my room was in the other day:

(notice the collection of lotion, water bottles, jewelery, random pieces of paper)

(Note the make-up, MORE water bottles, jewelery, hair stuff, MORE random paperwork)

(Notice the crap EVERYWHERE!!!!)

My clothes is taking over my room, and yes, that is a suitcase at the foot of my bed and shoes everywhere...

This is bad, guys...even for me!!!
